Marla is a Principal Engineer, Director of UX and Product Owner for the IT User Experience team. She has been at Intel for just under 19 years. Her passion is defining and driving large scale experience transformations through UX research, strategy, and design. Her work regularly impacts Intel IT overall strategy, specific employee experiences, and specific IT product strategy as well as externally influences through IT@Intel engagements across industry. She leads a team of UX researchers, designers and SW accessibility experts to drive better and more inclusive experiences and productivity across Intel’s enterprise IT functions as well as for cross-Intel initiatives. She developed her passion for improved SW design for humans through her work on the front line of a huge rollout as an IT support specialist. She has a M.S. in Information (Human-Computer Interaction) from the University of Michigan and also serves on their School of Information External Advisory Board helping her alma mater continue to prepare the next generation of UX. She has become a long-time Oregonian but is originally from Detroit, Michigan.
